wow, really a longlonglong time since i last update my blog. but i mean, since no one read blog now, might as well close this down.. haix.. currently working tem job, waiting for uni to start... and once uni start, it gonna be another round of study, and once done, i would be in a totally different world liao.. have to start earning money to repay my study loan... have to get promoted.... married... blahblahblah... am i thinking too far ahead? thats life~~

owell, jobs awesome till this moment, love the surprise birthday party especially planned for me by joel,ernie and jingyi... though rest of them did join in for the bdae song.. :) tml, i will be turning 20. oo... saying goodbye to me "teen" life liao... hope i still stay as young-full as i am when i was 16 forever.. muahaha..... dont know why, i really feel that after 16, ima old already... after 20, will be 21, 22, 23, 25, 27, 30... bOOM!! hahahas.... super fast i must say

Went for this today after heading over from NTU's open house
quite a funny show, not as bad as e review i saw on newspaper
NTU was really big..... a little crowded and a little warm... plus lots of stair to climb
owelll, shall treat it as an exercise trip then

finally found something worth to buy after so long

IPP's finally over
am now officially unemployed and nothing to do
lol

after 6 months of training, it had finally ended on the 26th Feb
happy... and cant wait for the upcoming events
but after all this, there would be nothing for me to do
and i would be slacking/relaxing/storing myself at home most of the time
thinking of this, i felt rather sad though
even though there would be no more irritating people like hope and sheila
and no more clearing of plates
but the worst thing is that there is nothing else for me to do
should be looking for jobs already
but what to do is still a problem
ahh
entering into the real life soon
after graduating, or i should say now, it all has start
a new chapter in life......
expecting, anticipating, worrying

on attachment wise, first 2 hotels was a great experience
whether it is on work or people i met
every start was tough but all was happy ending
except for the last ):
i kinda miss my first hotel, but think i would not have the chance to go back
people in 2nd hotel was great friendly
all i could say would to be........... good job to everyone who have complete their final year successfully :D

Thanks for the information. Before I actually step in, I’d like to suggest a couple of things first:

1. Since Mr Ashok didn’t directly say you need to do OT, perhaps you can just casually say to him, “Okay Mr Ashok, I’ll see you tomorrow!” and leave – make sure you have done all you’re supposed to do before saying this. I know how it is when bosses sometimes make you feel guilty leaving on time, but that’s your right. As long as you have completed your work, you should be able to leave. I had this experience before too – staying for the sake of staying, even when I don’t need to because I feel bad to leave. So you should just be thick skinned and happily say your “good-byes” and “see you tomorrow” and just go. Alternatively, you can try, “I’ve finished all my work and I’m making a move now. See you tomorrow!”

2. I don’t think you can claim back the “unspoken” OT already as Mr Ashok didn’t directly say you are working OT but you still stayed on as a “volunteer”. So I guess you have to let that go. Mr Ashok will probably say it’s part of your learning experience anyway.

3. As for the “official” OT on 2 Nov, please approach Mr Ashok and ask him about it. Tell him Kasmani asked you to work 1 hr OT on 2 Nov and ask Mr Ashok if you will be receiving OT pay or can you take time-off for it. It will be better if you can also tell him that you need time-off to handle something. OK, teach you what to say: “Mr Ashok, Kasmani called me in to work OT for an hour on 2 Nov. May I know if I’ll be paid for the OT or can I claim time-off? I have something I need to handle tomorrow (or any other day) and need to leave an hour earlier (or come in an hour later), if possible.”

4. I think sometimes you need to speak up, otherwise people will assume you are ok and take advantage of you. Just bite your lip and say what you have to say. Practice before approaching Mr Ashok if necessary

Hope this advice helps. Let me know if you need more advice and I’ll see what I can do. Let me know the outcome for this OT matter too. If you can’t get a solution for it, then I will step in.

· Date
· Original shift hours
· Number of OT hours worked.
· Reason for OT.
· No of OT hours claimed so far (which seems to me none yet?)
· Who told you that you can only claim 1hr?
· Who told you that it’s counted as “volunteer” OT?

I will bring up to HR after that. Is it Ashok who’s asking you to work OT?

Hello,

Yes, as Mr Ashok is my in-charge, he is the one who would have the power to ask me to stay. Most of the bellman leaving work after the morning shift would ask me to go with them but Mr Ashok still has the final say.

Most of the time, he won't say directly that i would have to do OT but the time i leave is always around 30mins to 45mins after the standard 3pm, where the morning bell staff had already left. I understand that the morning shift would have to wait for the afternoon shift people to hand over before leaving but most of the time, the latest time the afternoon shift will reach is around 3.10pm.

All of the OT happened when i am on morning shift, 7am-3pm. I find that there is no reason for my OT as all the afternoon shift had arrived and that the days wasn't really busy that they require a extra trainee's help. The "volunteer" work was told to me by Mr Ashok of course and was told to me on 10dec where i stayed till 4pm and also on the 11dec where i stayed till 3.40pm if i am not wrong.

I don't remember the exact date for all the OT but most happened for the last week which is 6dec - 10 dec. (As we do clock in and out from the back of house, there may be record there) For the 1hr OT, it happened on the 2nov and the person who called me the day before was a bell captian, name: Kasmani. And till now, i have not claim back any OT yet.

Thx for helping, but i wish that by doing this, i would not get anyone named in trouble or anything :)

er, this has been becoming an issue so i feel that i should let you know to see if you can help by doing something.
recently, (starting this week) i have been asked to do OT quite alot of time. and from what i heard from my manager, it would be counted as volunteer work and i would not be able to claim them back in term of hours. Even though each time of OT is max. for an hour only, i still feel that its alot as if i do it for a week, it would be 6hrs already.

for the first time when i do OT, it was around the 2nd/3rd month(you can check with my report) where i was asked to report to work early at 5.30am. The day before this, i receive a call asking me to come early the next day. he promise me that i would be able to claim back my time but till now, it still wasn't done. I was also not told that i could only claim for 1hr (even though it should be 1 and 1/2 hour as i should start at 7am usually).

and recently, esp. for this week, the OT is getting more frequent to almost like everyday. The 2 morning shift bell staff have already left and the afternoon shift staff are also all here but i am still not allowed to leave only untill around 3.45pm. the longest i stayed was yesterday (10dec) where i stayed till 4pm. I understand that for today(11dec), i did OT becox one of the staff is late for work but for the other days before........... ):

as usual when i was walking to work
suddenly realise someone behind me
i didnt see his face but only notice his clothes as it was still quite dark
and during morning brieifing
my manager suddenly tell me this

he use it as a joke of the day saying what i see him behind me
then began walking slowlier, wan him walk pass me

hvn been back since graduation except for one year teacher's day

first thing first.... i change my phone finally.... data plan... very satisfied
though still not really used to the phone but i love it... internet on the go...

i went to visit amara hotel yesterday
alone... yup
at first i really dont dare go in cox the lobby was rather empty

esp thx to the company who had replied my email on the cost of their tables set

after school went down to siloso beach resort
not for relaxation but for project purposes
brought there by school but teacher when missing half way
had to go back home ourselves...
went there for a tour and "blood donation"
got alot of mosquito wor
but the resort is really cool
got trees directly within the villa room
a normal guest room oso has 2 storeys with an outdoor bath/shower facing the beach
wow.... when can i ever try to stay in this resort?
the swimming pool also very cool...
got manmade waterfall i think :D
after that took shuttle bus back to vivo city
bought a bar of chocolate n shared it with meiting
recommended by shimin.... quite nice wor
ended the tired and hot day like that
now have to chiong project again

back from my genting trip
really fun and totally different from wat i always experience there
am slowly-ing uploading all photos to fb now... lol
day1
reach genting at round 1plus i think.. & only got to check in at round 3pm.. counted fast already i suppose... first day was rather tired of the bus trip already.... planned of where to go.... think we did shoppin first...bought a sun milk for myself... was super useful for the rest of the trip... watch HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON at night... first time watching movie there.... the seats was rather comfortabe yea..& the movie was super nice... had supper at night and slept at round 1am...
joke of the day: couldn't find the 4 of them in their rooms... thought that they went out without us... but e truth was that they were looking for us at the reception as they could find us in 905 when we are actually at 915....

day2
1 full day for us.... had buffet breakfast at the hotel cafe.... after which went to e OUTDOOR themepark...had been a long time since i was out there.... had some warm up rides before i tried those scarier ones for me lah... like the spinner for eg... lol... tried for the first time and decided to miss the second try.. =p lunch at marrybrown.... similar to KFC.... but not that nice as compared to.. after that was the indoor roller coaster and e last was the water game.... lol... ended off with the most scariest rides.... ahhhH... was screaming like hell at e moment we went down..... and we were totally wet... dinner was steamboat and bbq at hotpot.... was nice but e steam and splattering of oil make me feel eeeeeeeyu~ bowling at night even though i didnt know how to play... the place was glowing in the dark at night.... was so amazed that my nail colour change from dark blue to sky blue and mayble's hot pink to bright orange.... after that went OUT for some fresh and cold air..... at supper at starbucks.... slept at round 2am ++

last day of the trip.... breakfast buffet at resorts cafe.... find it more higher class than wat we had.... even can find *bao*.... happy..... after which was acarde time.....not much people.... so we were not *watched* while playing yea..... hahahas.... packed at checkout at e kiosks..... last of all... went to tried the fish spa before leaving.... was really ticklish at first.... 15mins = 18ringgit... bused at reach home at round 9plus.... was really tired but enjoy e whole trip...
hope for another one soon...~

today was the sports day of my course... first time having sports day since i join the poly...erm... had 3 types of sports... captain's ball, basketball and soccer... i didnt play any but went to support my class of course... HS0804 rocks.... yea...! had very strong opponents though.... hahas.... somemore our referee[a girl in hot pink top, wearin specs and had a pony tail from SW] for captains ball was like deem to be bias towards our oppossing team... hate her....boooooooo.... the whole thing ended round 5plus with some cheers... was damn tired already... but got this someone still there kbkb say we lack of team spirit... jus because we didnt went down to the front to cheer..... LOL... was like so wth can... omg... so bullshit...

3 days of F1 work is finally over... was all bout packin bento set... around 800+ sets in total each day... around 10 people working... reporting time for work was at 2... but actual work starts only at 3plus... end round 5plus... and the rest if the tiime was chit chat... was a very HOT race this year... even if our tents are white... i still feel like im sittin in an oven... lol...

1st day of work was exciting... lookin forward
2nd day of work was normal... gettin used to it
3rd day of work... SIAN.... totally sick of all those food that i pack... bleh....
**all those food didnt look like tung lok standard to me**

and after calculating my pay.... totally ""bo hua""
still must deduct all those transportation cost....
lookin on the bright side... i got to noe some new people whom i dont know their names...
and the live show with the blastin of the race cars... :D

finally... waiting for my pay.... this month pay was delayed.... today the 2nd liao... still hvn collected my pay.. and can u believe... is oct already... 17 more days till school reopens... thinking of it....

when for F1 training today at noble house... kinda fated with this place... lol

1st time there was for company lunch
2nd time there was to work as waitress
3rd time there was for F1 training

training was as per normal... not much different.. this time we choose to work at padang... haha... surrounded by tracks... cool... uniform oso better than last time.. is orange in colour... bad thing is that must go collect uni again on the 22nd... cant they jsut give it to us today... haha...

im back from shanghai!!!

hahas... it was like e day before since im back to singapore... no time to update... need to work yesterday... damn tired.... saw eleanor yesterday while working.... such a coincident.. :D she was a person i knew during e shanghai trip.. yup...

e trip was shanghai was rather cool... tis is the first time i went overseas without my parents... hahas... but first day there was like kinda missing singapore already... the clean air.. my bed and everything... lots of people smoke there... so every where, even in the toilet can smell the smoke.. hate it... maybe cox long time no take plane... the flight to shanghai was terrible... so xing ku... 7-8 times of turbulence...plane shake like hell... cant sleep.. delay at the airport till 5pm even though we reach round 3.30... someone lost her luggage... tour agent MIA... lol.. company visit was rather boring for me... esp the uni we visit on the last day... almost fall asleep.. their company intro with all those short form of WSP, ERP, ABC... blah blah blah... i dont understand a single... lol... schedule was rather tight resulting in lesser time for shopping... is either we have the mood to shop but no time... or have no mood to shop and have no time... lol..sadden that i only bought 1 top... should have bought more... regret... haix haix haix... their cab was different from wat we saw in singapore too... so cool that they have this plastic thing to cover/surround the driver protecting them from robbery... hotel room was rather "special"... bed was kinda hard... menu there was like all in chinese.. not that i cant read chinese... is that i cant understand wat they are describin lor.. cant imagine how the food will look like just by looking at the name... tis make ordering of food rather difficult.. xiao long bao was super nice... love the soup... SWEET!!! flight back to singapore was delay too... by 1 and a half hr somemore... god noes what happen... reach home round 12am...

oya.. got to know that i was selected for this year F1 under tung lok... lol...training tml... but still working at 6 as well.... becoming panda already... *yawn*

yupiee...the wonderful holiday is here.. althought it's not going to be a long one.. but at least can get some long hours of sleeping... :D still have projects undone.... total of 5 projects to be submitted after the holiday... will be chiong-ing during the holiday..

and... i change my job already... will be working at kumon till the end of this month... and i have already start work at the gifts and stationery shop... just opposite my house... convenient!!! still kind of unfamiliar with stuffs... will get hold of it soon... **i now how to use the cashier already** Just hope that i wont give the wrong change can liao.. ^^

went for national education project after school ends today... at Asian Civilisation Museum... a very nice place i never went before... :D at this KangXi Emperor gallary inside... it was like WOW... saw lots of things i never see before... i not mountain tortoise hor...

first week of school has ended...~ kind of not used to it... having two lectures a day means double homework for me... D: oYa.. happy belated birthday to yuyue...!

yesterday was a public holiday so no school and work for me... which was GREAT!! hahas... was kindof family day... went out for the whole day...sakura brunch... then to tampanies 1... crowded with people... love the teadot.... nice.... bought a bag there...^^
